Links to music I’ve recorded- MY recording background

Early last year I decided to invest into a Mac duo and use the same Tascam 1804 that I have been using the last few years. It has always done me well and I have never really had trouble incorporating the Tascam into the Due. amp, mic, recording, fx, sound
The first time I installed the 1804 I fired up the Macbook and opened up Logic and bam, it worked like clockwork. In the recording business not having to hassle with setup and having more time in preproduction is a blessing.

Back when I started recording you could spend days working on a computer tring to make you drivers work. You would have to go into bios start tweaking a few files, then make sure you didn’t have programs updating. It was really a hassle to set-up and I had to have a bunch of pages to read and would spend most of my time trying to get some info on a very slow phone Internet connection.

I am so glad it is easy plug and play and wish that today’s younger music techs got to go through the beginning of DAW revolution. Some may say you guys are spoiled now and didn’t get “cut Tape”

Basically my first computer I built and specked out for audio recording. I bought an Asus motherboard with 512 Kingston memory p4 1.7 GHz processor. I used it for years and recorded many people with it. It is loud but does a fine job moving files. Compared to today’s computers it is slow and needs a tune-up with way more ram!

Ram Ram Ram and more ram is today’s big thing! You got to have it to run all these big programs. If you’re like me you will have 20 pages open in no time and you computer will be crying the blues. I must admit to a Mac lover I am hurting the feeling of the duo by only installing 1 gig of memory! Some say I am just teasing it! Here are my specs

I just looked up the price of 4 gigs of memory and it is a whopping $500! I don’t know if I will ever be able to open up my laptop and get the full energy potential that is waiting, maybe one day I guess! In the mean time I will just be dreaming for a soup up!

Check out Ted Tedders new work! I recorded Tedd last Year In Birmingham Alabama and had a blast! We had a bunch of different people play on the cd and it was an awesome project. It started out with me taking gear to Teds and setting up in the living room. We did 3-4 sessions there and then did a bunch of short sessions out of the old Birmingham 13th way house. We also did some drum tracks in the attic space of this dope place in Hoover. It was a great project and can’t say enough for him! He can’t wait to get started on number two! Support Ted Tedder!studio, music, recording
Check out “Gasoline and Matches” and “New Space Rocket!” I layed Mando and guitar on New space and guitar and slide on Gasoline and Matches! Check out the feedback build up into the last electric solo. That is mine and the first part is Ryan from Birmingham based rock band Highwater. Glad to see you liked Chapel Hill. I used to live there and it was dope. I daydream about gettin a place out in the woods around there.
